Compressed air, as an indispensable power source in modern industry, has usage standards that directly affect production efficiency and operational safety. Enterprises must strictly comply with relevant national standards and establish a comprehensive management system.

Compressed Air Quality Control

Compressed air quality is a critical indicator for determining whether a system meets the required standards. According to relevant national standards, the oil content, water content, and solid particulate matter in compressed air must be kept within specified limits.

  • Oil content controlEfficient oil‑removal filtration equipment must be installed to ensure that downstream gas‑using equipment is not contaminated by oil.
  • Drying treatment: Reduce the air dew point using refrigerated or desiccant dryers to prevent condensation and rust formation inside the pipelines.
  • Particulate matter filtrationInstall precision filters upstream of critical gas-use points to capture fine particulates and impurities.

System Design and Piping Codes

The design of compressed air piping networks must comply with fluid mechanics and safety‑technical requirements. Pipe materials should be selected for their corrosion resistance and high compressive strength, and the layout should minimize pipeline length to reduce pressure losses.

During pipeline installation, a sufficient slope must be maintained, and automatic or manual drain valves should be installed at low points to enable the periodic removal of condensate. In addition, the system shall be equipped with comprehensive pressure monitoring and relief devices to ensure that the network pressure remains within a safe range at all times.

Safe Operations and Daily Management

Safety is the cornerstone of compressed air system operation. Operators must undergo specialized training and be thoroughly familiar with equipment performance and emergency response procedures.

Maintenance and Periodic Inspections

Scientific maintenance is the foundation for extending equipment life and ensuring gas quality. Enterprises should develop a comprehensive maintenance plan, regularly replacing air filters, oil separators, and desiccant cartridges. At the same time, they must periodically engage qualified third-party organizations to inspect compressed air quality and system safety components, ensuring that all relevant parameters consistently meet national standards.
