If the workshop is excessively hot or poorly ventilated, not only will equipment aging be accelerated, but the accuracy of safety valves and pressure gauges may also be compromised. Adequate air circulation helps dissipate heat and reduce localized humidity.

Humidity and Corrosion:In some workshops, humidity is high and corrosive gases are present. Under such conditions, the surface of air receivers and their drain valves are prone to rust and corrosion. It is recommended to apply an anti-corrosion coating to the tank body and increase the frequency of drainage to prevent internal water accumulation from exacerbating corrosion.

Properly arranging gas storage tanks within the workshop can shorten the air supply piping and reduce pressure losses, but routine maintenance and management must not be overlooked.

  • Pipeline Design Optimization:Minimize the piping distance between the air compressor, the air receiver tank, and the point-of-use equipment, and reduce the number of elbows to lower pressure drop and the risk of leaks. Piping should be securely fastened to prevent vibrations that could loosen connections.
  • Regular blowdown:Condensate and oil contaminants tend to accumulate at the bottom of air receivers. Operators should establish a routine for periodic drainage, especially during humid seasons, to maintain compressed air quality and protect downstream pneumatic equipment.
  • Safety accessory inspection:During routine inspections, key components to check include whether the pressure gauge is within its calibration validity period, whether the safety valve is responsive and reliable, and whether there are any leaks at the drain valves. Any abnormalities detected should be addressed immediately by shutting down the equipment.

The air compressor’s receiver tank may be installed within the workshop, provided that all relevant regulations for special‑equipment management are strictly adhered to and that its layout is scientifically designed and meticulously maintained in accordance with the workshop’s specific conditions. Only by embedding safety awareness into every aspect of daily operations can the stability and efficiency of the production system be ensured.
