How to correctly assess and set system pressure?

To ensure that terminal equipment receives adequate discharge pressure, the system pressure drop must be factored into the setting of the air compressor’s discharge pressure. The following strategy is recommended:

  • Calculate system pressure drop:Assess the total pressure loss from the compressor room to the farthest point of air consumption; in a properly designed system, the pressure drop should be kept within an acceptable range.
  • Properly set the exhaust pressure:The set discharge pressure of the air compressor should equal the terminal’s minimum required pressure plus the system’s total pressure drop. Avoid arbitrarily increasing the discharge pressure to prevent energy waste.
  • Multi-point pressure monitoring:Install pressure gauges at the air compressor outlet, downstream of the air receiver tank, and at critical points of use to continuously monitor pressures at each node, enabling prompt detection of pipeline leaks or filter element blockages.

Stress Management in Daily Maintenance

In actual operation, if the air compressor’s discharge pressure is normal but the terminal outlet pressure is significantly low, priority should be given to checking whether the filters in the downstream treatment equipment need replacement and whether there are hidden leaks in the piping network. Ensuring unobstructed pipelines and maintaining the purification equipment in good working condition are essential for sustaining stable outlet pressure.
