Air Compressor Room Control Measures

As the core power hub of a factory and its production lines, the air compressor room’s operational status directly impacts the overall stability and safety of production. To ensure efficient equipment operation and extend its service life, it is essential to establish a scientific and rigorous management and control system. The following are the key control measures for air compressor rooms.

I. Personnel and Institutional Management

Standardized personnel management is the first line of defense for data center security and must be rigorously enforced in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Qualifications and Training:Operators and maintenance personnel must undergo specialized training, be thoroughly familiar with the equipment’s operating principles, procedures, and emergency response protocols, and are strictly prohibited from performing operations without proper certification or prior training.
  • Access Control and Entry Management:The computer room shall be managed under a closed-access system, and unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from entering. Visitors and construction workers must register prior to entry and be accompanied by designated personnel.
  • Institutional posting:Core policies such as safety operating procedures, equipment inspection protocols, and job responsibilities are presented on bulletin boards and displayed in prominent locations within the server room to continuously remind operators of proper procedures.

II. Daily Inspection and Maintenance of Equipment

Scientific inspection and maintenance can effectively prevent equipment failures and ensure that the air compressor operates at its optimal performance.

  • Operating Parameter Monitoring:Inspection personnel are required to regularly record key parameters such as exhaust pressure, exhaust temperature, motor current, and voltage, ensuring that all readings remain within the equipment’s specified safety limits.
  • Lubrication and Cooling System Inspection:Regularly check the lubricating oil level and quality, as well as the coolant flow rate and temperature. If the oil becomes emulsified or discolored, or if the cooling system is blocked, immediately shut down the equipment, address the issue, and replace any consumable components.
  • Regular Maintenance Schedule:Develop a maintenance schedule in strict accordance with the equipment maintenance manual, and regularly replace the air filter element, oil filter, oil‑gas separator element, and lubricating oil to prevent the equipment from operating while faulty or beyond its recommended service life.

III. Data Center Environment and Security Management

A favorable operating environment is essential for the stable operation of air compressors, and environmental control must not be overlooked.

  • Ventilation and Heat Dissipation:Air compressors generate substantial heat during operation, so the compressor room must be equipped with comprehensive ventilation and cooling systems. Ensure that air inlets and outlets remain unobstructed to prevent excessive temperatures inside the room, which could trigger high‑temperature shutdowns of the equipment.
  • Fire Safety and Electrical Safety:The computer room shall be equipped with an adequate supply of effective fire‑fighting equipment, and its functionality shall be inspected regularly. Electrical control cabinets and wiring must be protected against moisture and rodent damage, and unauthorized extension or haphazard wiring is strictly prohibited.
  • Cleaning and Dust Prevention:Maintain a clean and orderly environment within the equipment room, and regularly remove oil stains and dust from equipment surfaces and the floor. Good hygiene practices help minimize inhalation of airborne particulates and reduce the load on filter elements.

IV. Emergency Response and Hazard Identification

Establishing a robust emergency response mechanism and a comprehensive hazard‑identification system is essential for effectively addressing emergencies and preventing major accidents.

  • Emergency Response Plan and Drills:In response to common emergencies such as power outages, sudden equipment failures, fires, and high-temperature alarms, detailed emergency response plans have been developed, and regular live‑fire drills are conducted to enhance personnel’s ability to handle crises.
  • Hazard Ledger Management:Establish a ledger for identifying and addressing potential hazards, meticulously documenting issues such as leaks, abnormal vibrations, and unusual noises detected during routine inspections. Assign specific individuals responsible for corrective actions and set clear deadlines, implement closed-loop management, and ensure that all hazards are thoroughly eliminated.

The management and control of air compressor rooms is a systematic, long-term endeavor. Enterprises should, based on their specific circumstances, continuously refine their management processes and ensure that all control measures are effectively implemented, thereby providing a solid and reliable power supply to support safe production.
