During operation, air compressors generate condensate, oil‑contaminated wastewater, and rinse water. Common pollutants include oils, suspended solids, metal particles, and trace residues of additives. Discharging these effluents directly can lead to pipeline blockages, water‑body contamination, and potential disruptions to the stability of downstream water‑use systems.

  • Source reduction:Optimize drainage methods to minimize unnecessary discharges and the ingress of impurities.
  • Graded processing:First remove oil and sludge, then proceed with thorough purification.
  • Stable Operations and Maintenance:Regularly clean and monitor water quality to prevent treatment facility failure.

Typical processing steps

1. Collection and Regulation:Collect effluents from various discharge points in a centralized manner, and use an equalization basin to mitigate fluctuations in flow rate and water quality, thereby facilitating subsequent treatment.

2. Oil–water separation and sedimentation:Remove floating oil and larger particles through oil–water separation, sedimentation, or filtration to reduce the load on downstream treatment units.

3. Air flotation or filtration:Separation of fine oil droplets and suspended solids is commonly achieved through air flotation, multi-media filtration, or membrane filtration.

4. Deep Purification:Depending on discharge or reuse requirements, it can be combined with adsorption, oxidation, or biochemical treatment to further reduce pollutants.

Sludge and Concentrate Disposal

Floating oil, sediment, and sludge generated during the treatment process shall be collected separately and disposed of in accordance with the management requirements for general industrial solid waste or hazardous waste, to prevent secondary pollution.

  • Regularly inspect drain valves, separators, and filters to prevent blockages and leaks.
  • Record water volume, water quality, and consumable replacement details to establish a traceable ledger.
  • Adjust the treatment process in response to changes in water quality, and avoid blindly replicating solutions from other projects.
