Can a grating fence be used in the air compressor room and workshop?

Although grating fences are widely used in workshops, their specific installation must take into account the following practical operating conditions:

  • Impact resistance and load-bearing capacity: Forklifts and material-handling equipment frequently operate within the workshop; therefore, the base of guardrails or their upright posts must have sufficient impact resistance, and crash‑proof barriers or warning posts may be installed where necessary.
  • Dust Prevention and Cleaning Maintenance: Grille structures tend to accumulate dust and grease. If the workshop has stringent cleanliness requirements, it is necessary to assess the difficulty of cleaning or install solid baffles on the lower portion to minimize airborne dust from entering the floor area.
  • Limitations of Noise Control: Grille fences do not provide sound insulation. If the air compressor generates significant noise, grille fences alone will not meet the workshop’s noise‑reduction requirements; additional soundproofing measures must be installed.

To ensure that the grating fence provides optimal protection in the air compressor room and workshop, its selection and installation should adhere to the following principles:
