Air compressor dehumidification method

Air compressor dehumidification needs to control the moisture content in compressed air through a systematic method to ensure the normal operation of gas equipment and product quality. The following are dehumidification methods and operation suggestions applicable to the official release of enterprises:

    • freeze dryer: The compressed air is cooled below the dew point through the refrigeration system, so that the water vapor is condensed into liquid water and discharged.     • adsorption dryer: Using desiccant (such as activated alumina, molecular sieve) to adsorb moisture, it is divided into two types: athermal regeneration and heating regeneration. The heat-free regeneration type is suitable for intermittent gas use scenarios, while the heating regeneration type regenerates the desiccant through hot air, which can achieve a very low dew point (e. g. below -40 ℃) to meet the strict needs of the pharmaceutical, electronics and other industries.
  2. Condensate water discharge management
    • automatic drain valve: Electronic level control or pneumatic pulse drain valve is preferred to replace manual discharge, reduce compressed air loss and avoid condensate accumulation.
    • Gas tank maintenancethe air storage tank itself has the function of cooling and separating water. It is necessary to discharge the accumulated water in the tank regularly (daily inspection is recommended), and heat preservation measures (such as heating belt) can be used to prevent the formation of external condensed water.

    • pipe Inclination Design: Set an inclined section in the compressed air pipeline (slope ≥ 1%), using gravity to urge condensed water to flow to the drainage point to reduce moisture retention.

  2. Pretreatment and Maintenance
    • environmental Control: Reduce the humidity of the air sucked in by the compressor (e. g. through dehumidification pretreatment) and reduce the entry of moisture into the system from the source.
    • Regular maintenance: Clean the cooler, check the desiccant status (recommended every 6 months), replace the filter element (filter element replacement cycle is usually 2000-4000 hours) to ensure that the dehumidification system continues to be effective.

  • general industrial gas(such as mechanical processing, building materials production): selection of refrigeration dryer + automatic drain valve, supporting the daily maintenance of gas storage tank.
  • High cleanliness requirements(such as medicine, electronics, food packaging): Adopt adsorption dryer (heating regeneration type) + precision filtration, and regularly detect the dew point temperature.
  • long distance gas transmission: Install an automatic drain valve at the low point of the pipeline, and design a “U” or “” buffer section to promote condensate discharge.

Summary: Air compressor dehumidification should be combined with drying equipment, condensate management, system design and pretreatment measures. Enterprises should select appropriate technical solutions according to the gas quality requirements and establish a regular maintenance system to ensure that the dryness of compressed air meets production requirements.
