The setting of gas source pressure in chemical plants needs to be combined with specific process requirements and equipment characteristics, usually with the following rules:

1. Base pressure range
The gas source pressure of most chemical plants is concentrated in the range of 5-8 bar. This range can meet the operating requirements of most process equipment (such as pneumatic valves, instrument control, material handling, etc.), while taking into account system safety and economy-too low pressure may lead to equipment power shortage, too high pressure may increase the risk of pipeline leakage and energy consumption.

2. Special Process Requirements
: Some refined or high-energy processes may require higher pressure: for example, some reactor materials need to be transported by high-pressure gas to accelerate the reaction rate, or long-distance pipeline transportation needs to increase pressure to overcome resistance. These scenarios may have a pressure of 10- 15 bar, but safety is guaranteed by a dedicated compressor and reinforced piping design.

3. Pressure regulation and stability
In actual operation, the air source pressure needs to be dynamically adjusted through the air storage tank and the pressure regulating valve to adapt to the fluctuation of air consumption. For example, instrument gas needs to maintain a stable pressure (usually ± 0.1 bar), while purge gas can allow a certain range of pressure changes. Appropriate margin should be reserved for compressor selection to avoid affecting production continuity due to insufficient pressure.

Whenusing the recommended
gas source pressure in the chemical plant, it is recommended to combine the minimum required pressure of process equipment, pipeline resistance loss and safety margin. Priority is given to ensuring the pressure supply of key equipment (such as safety interlock system), and then optimizing the gas efficiency of non-core processes. At the same time, the pipeline leakage and equipment gas consumption are regularly detected to avoid energy waste due to excessive pressure setting.

In short, the gas source pressure of the chemical plant is 5-8 bar as the mainstream, the specific value needs to be flexibly adjusted according to the process characteristics and system design, the core is to balance the equipment requirements, safety risks and operating costs.
