What are the requirements for the instrument‑grade compressed air used in instrumentation?

You should want to know the relevant specification requirements for process compressed air used in the instrument.

Pressure Requirements

The air supply pressure of conventional instruments is mostly 0. 14MPa, the air supply pressure of equipment equipped with piston actuators can reach 0. 4~0.5MPa, the pressure at the end of the pipe network is not less than 0. 4MPa, the pressure range of mainstream air supply system is 0. 4~0.7MPa, and the pressure fluctuation should be controlled within 10%.

Purity Requirements

Dust content: particle size ≤ 3μm, dust content ≤ 1mg/ m³, to avoid blocking the orifice and other precision components.
Oil content: oil content ≤ 1ppm to prevent oil mist from sticking to parts causing failure.
Water content: The dew point under the operating pressure shall be lower than the local extreme minimum temperature by more than 10 ℃ to avoid freezing and corrosion of the pipeline.
No corrosive gas: no harmful impurities such as hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide shall be mixed.

Use precautions

It shall be set up independently with the pipe network of common power process compressed air, and pre-treatment of oil removal, drying and dust removal shall be done well to avoid cross-contamination of air sources affecting the stability of instrument operation.
